| Yay for early morning prayer. the sun is creepin out, you aren't thinking about all the studying you have to do yet, and endorphins are kickin in (or whatever that neurotransmitter is) so everything is twice as funny. That is unless you aren't an early morning riser or you went to bed about 4 hours prior. Nevertheless, early morning prayer always makes me want to pray some more. ...And then you see your prayers answered overwhelmingly and you want to do a little dance and sing a song....cuz He is that AWESOME. | | |
| As much as I like sleeping, I seem to like getting up early even more. I love that early morning smell when all the birds are chattering away like they've been up for hours. And the sunrise!! How awesome is a sunrise? You feel like you've just been privy to one of God's most precious secrets or perhaps a private art exhibit that only a handful of people are allowed into. Either way, it leaves you breathless and in awe. I think my favorite early morning wake-up calls were for AAU tournaments back in high school where we had to drive down to VA real early. hehe I'm such a sap.
two weeks til I'm back at school for good. where has the time gone? props to the kids who go back early. and props to the kids who did summer school!
this is me workin on my update skills as I was forgiven last time for being so late.
out like the light in ur fridge
and PS. I finished Monster two days ago, but its still an amazing book!
| I survived Physics. I should make that a bumper sticker and put it on my car...oh wait. need a car first.
but yes, I am home from a summer of physics and I enjoyed ten hours of sleep last night. sooo heavenly. I have to call my grandmother today. She writes me letters while I am at school and they came to visit me when I was home for the 4th of July, but I missed them. Yay for grandmothers and grandfathers. I don't think they realize what a blessing they can be. when I get old and have grandkids......whoa there Abra, slow down. At the rate you're going, you'll be lucky to be a great aunt. lol.
Well its off to unpacking and housework.
ps. sorry I took so long to hit up my xaaanga.
| Yay for home.
I have been running full tilt for the last couple of months and finally when I get home to rest I dont know how to. I spent half the day in a cute little cafe eating lunch and a chocolate milkshake and talking with my mother. The service of the cafe was far from speedy and so I was forced to sit on my butt and wait. it was nice
No basketball...at least for a week. can I handle that? After the most amazing season of my life ended two days ago in tears and amazement, I am almost unsure of what to do with myself now. I'll admit, I have been rather mopey. and I can't explain why in words to people other than those who have experienced this kind of thing before. It isn't failure, just disappointment, the end of a good thing.
Ah well, back to my studies, I suppose. Gotta stay focused. After all, there is always next year. I can only say that one more time after this. ...scary. My basketball shoes are already shaking.
sorry for the late update, but you all should be used to this by now . and if you wanna know more about all the other crazy stuff happening in my life, feel free to call me up and we'll chat.
| I feel like my mother at times, especially in church. Those tears, man, they just keep coming. I want to figure out how to turn them on and off, figure it may come in handy ... you know, us women, we gotta figure out how to control those crazy emotions.
My pastor at school just lost his mother about a week ago and today in church he decided to do a sort of tribute to her - some important things she taught him in the last few weeks of her life. I was on the verge of tears through the whole thing. And not necessarily because she was an amazing woman because she was, but he painted a very real picture of her and I thought of my own mother and the huge influence that God has had on her life and on the life of her family. There is no comparing Christ with anyone or anything else. When all is lost and you have nothing left, there is still Christ:
1 Corinthians 13:13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Classes start Tuesday. Ack! I just said the C word! my apologies go out to all who started last week. Its the life of a college student, what can I say? And my tip for the week is:
"Pray Big because our God is greater than our biggest dreams and aspirations. Anything is possible. But be careful because praying is risky...you never know when God will answer that prayer in ways you never expected."
